The Child and Youth Protection Foundation (CYPF) joins the rest of the world in celebrating International Workers’ Day. Today, we honor the dedication, resilience, and tireless efforts of every worker who contributes to building a just, safe, and inclusive society,’ especially those working to protect the rights and well-being of children and young people across Nigeria.
As a child protection organization, CYPF recognizes the critical role that social workers, educators, healthcare providers, community volunteers, policymakers, and civil society advocates play in shaping the future of our nation. Their commitment to ending child abuse, child marriage, exploitation, and neglect remains a beacon of hope in the face of systemic challenges.
This year’s Workers’ Day theme reinforces the need for dignity in labor and the importance of safe, fair, and supportive working environments, especially for those operating in under-resourced and high-risk child protection spaces.
We call on government institutions, private sector players, and development partners to:
- Invest in the child protection workforce.
- Strengthen policies that support youth development and safeguarding.
- Recognize the value of care work and frontline service providers.
- Promote decent work conditions that ensure both impact and sustainability.
At CYPF, we remain committed to advocating for better support systems for workers, protecting vulnerable populations. Together, we can build a Nigeria where every child is safe, every youth is empowered, and every worker is valued.Signed,
Child and Youth Protection Foundation (CYPF)
