CYPF’S GIRLS’ MOVEMENT

Overview

Child and Youth Protection Foundation’s Girls Movement is a platform where we collectively amplify the voices of girls, advocate for their rights, and create a safe space for them to connect and share experiences.

We create change through our platform by posting relevant content related to girls’ empowerment, rights, and experiences, adding to existing conversations, sharing thoughts and ideas and respond to posts, offering support and sparking meaningful conversations, we also share inspiring stories of girls who’ve made a difference, share photos or videos showcasing girls’ talents and achievements and share personal experiences and stories of overcoming challenges.

CYPF Girl’s Movement creates leadership opportunities for our members, like our ongoing menstrual hygiene management training, where our members are mentors training girls on menstrual hygiene. We have also participated in panel sessions where we have either moderated or been a speaker. We participated in the Adolescent Girls Summit 2024, where we had two members actively participate as Nigerian representatives, and at the upcoming AGS 2026, we also have one of our members as a Nigerian representative.

We’re filling pad banks and restoring dignity, one pack at a time.

No girl should miss school because of her period.

Did you know Female Genital Cutting still affects millions of women and girls in Nigeria?

FGC has no health benefits, causes lifelong harm, and is a violation of human rights, yet it persists due to deeply rooted cultural beliefs
