Education Support Scheme

The Education Support scheme seeks to facilitate the enrolment and retention of children from indigent families in schools. The project was initiated due to the inability of many families to enrol or keep their children in school, and this meant that children were then vulnerable to abuse, child labor, trafficking, teenage pregnancies, and child marriage.

So, the Scheme offers support to children by paying their school fees and continuous assessment fees courtesy of donations from funders and partners. Presently, we cater to girls across six schools in Abuja – LEA Lugbe, LEA Aleyita, LEA Mpape, JSS Mpape, GSS Jabi, and GSS Lugbe. We also carry out a Progress Assessment at the beginning of the Term to ascertain their challenges and school performance by discussing with the beneficiaries, assessing their report cards & results, and consulting with their teachers and the headteacher.

Through this program, we have been able to remove the financial obligation on indigent families and improve children’s school enrolment and retention. The consistent mentoring and monitoring of their progress, educating them in life skills, have also led to improved performance in their studies. We will continue to support families to ensure children who can’t afford to, can go to school and grow up with dignity.
